SATOVCHA VILLAGE 

The village is situated 33 kilometers East from Goce Delchev Town and it is a seat of a municipality with 13 villages.
According to the folk legends this village has existed before the Bulgarian fall down under the Ottomans’ slavery. It was called Svatovica or Satovica then. Small hamlets existed in the surrounding neighborhoods called Krust, Jidovo, Skribina, Radevi Livadi and Gramada. The natives settled here as a security against the enslaver.
The name of the village probably comes from the proto-Bulgarian word “utensil” (honeycomb full of honey) or from the first name Sato. All around the villages there were found many ancient necropolises and relics from the antique medieval hamlet which were declared as culture monuments.

The main means of living of the natives are growing tobacco, potatoes, mushrooms, stock-farming, collecting wild mushrooms together with the forest agriculture – afforestation and lumbering, as well as possessing a game station – “Satovcha Village’. The farm has rich flora and fauna and a small game.
Тhe reserve of Satovcha Village is in the first place in shooting trophy among all the reserves in the country.

“NANOVICA” RESERVE 

“Nanovica” Reserve is situated in the Rodopite Mountain and is one of the most preferable destinations from the Bulgarian hunting addicts as well as the foreigners. The beauty of the Rodopite Mountain and its nature are positive factors for a successful hunting hike. The basis has at its disposal of 22 beds divided into double bedrooms and four-bed rooms, as well as an apartment. Every room has its own bathroom. The reserve also offers a veranda, a summer-house, a parking lot under guard, a big hall with a fireplace, a restaurant and a skilled cook. The reserve works all seasons and it is situated between two artificial lakes and a pine forest. It is perfectly suitable for relaxation, hunting or fishing. On the river’s bank of the “Studen Kladenec” Reservoir is situated the Deer’s Farm of the base which is one of the best game breeding farm in Bulgaria. Hundreds of royal slags, deer, wild boars and stag of a fallow deer are living on a thousand decares area. The guests of the “Nanovica” Reserve who love fishing will discover unexpected possibilities for nice relaxation. “Vurbica” River is rich of mountain barbel, chub etc. In the waters of “Studen Kldenec” Reservoir there have been caught record-breaking specimens of the biggest river predator – the sheat-fish.
